We’re holding our last plant sale for 2021 at the Farm this Saturday 18 December between 8:00am and 10:00am. Come down and get some interesting additions to your garden. We’ll have these easy-to-care for plants on offer:

- Large bromeliads, unpotted for $10.00

- A variety of potted bromeliads for $15.00

- A few Tillandsias

- Mother-in-law tongue. Please note that these can be a weed, so should be kept in pots. They do make great houseplants and help clean the air. Only $5.00

- Pots of mixed Ribbon Plant and Walking Iris $10.00

We’ll also have some useful herbs, ranging in price from $2 - $5:

- Yarrow. Great permaculture plant as it mines the soil for potassium, is a compost activator, attracts bees and beneficial insects. Also has medicinal use.

- Lemon balm. Makes a delicious tea. Use in a marinade for fish or chicken. Make a pesto.

- Holy Basil. Also known as Tulsi. A bee magnet. Stronger flavour and spicier than Sweet Basil.

- Thai Basil. Used widely in Asian cooking.

- Mother of herbs. Tea is said to be good for insomnia.

- Rose Geranium. Used for herbal teas or flavour ice blocks for iced tea.

- Turmeric. Grate it or slice it to use in cooking, or make a tea with it. Said to be an anti-inflammatory.

- Garlic chives. Great substitute for garlic, widely used in Asian cooking in stirfries, soups, pancakes, dumplings.

- Aloe vera. Used in traditional medicine as itch and bite soother, for sunburn relief hair conditioner, and as face moisturiser,.
