Saturday 26th October is shaping up to be a BIG day at Beelarong. Not only will we be celebrating kids with a Children’s Open Day (check out our Facebook page), but our Artist in Residence will have her studio open and of course it’s Farmgate sale day – the penultimate of the year!  Come and join us between 9 and noon!

Were you lucky enough to pick up some Elderflower and Lemon Cordial last month?  It sold out quickly, but good news is that we have more available this month!  You just dilute it to your taste – somewhere between 1:5 or 1:10.

We also have Rosellas in Syrup again.  Perfect for popping into something bubbly – soda water, lemonade or even something stronger!

Looking for something for your toast?  Choose from Rosella Jam, Strawberry Jam, Mulberry Jam, Rhubarb and Apple Jam, Mandarin Jam, Mandarin Jam with Ginger, Jaboticaba and Apple Jam, Brazilian Cherry and Apple Jam, Chunky Pink Grapefruit Marmalade and small quantities of lots of other combinations.

Prefer something to go with cheese, meat or as an accompaniment to curry?  Take your pick!  We have spiced Apple Sauce (perfect with roast pork – think Christmas!), Rosella Chilli Chutney, Jaboticaba Chutney, Banana Date Chutney, Zucchini Pickle, Starfruit and Choko Chutney, Rosella and Starfruit Tangy Chutney, Tomato Relish, Sweet Mustard Pickle, Tangy Green Tomato Chutney, Chilli Jam (mild-medium), and Brinjal Pickle (eggplant).

Our standard 250ml jars are a bargain at $7.00 each, whilst our delicious Lemon Butter and Lemon Passionfruit Butter are $9.00.  You need to be early to grab these as we only have small quantities and they are very popular!

We’ll also have hand crafted items on sale (think Christmas presents), beautiful watercolour prints, and a selection of plants.  Hope to see you there!

September Farmgate Sale

Last Saturday of the month coming up and this means it’s Beelarong’s Farmgate Sale this weekend – Saturday 28 September from 9am – noon.

Of course we will have our wonderful home made preserves available, more details below. We’re again able to offer a small selection of hard to find plants, including vanilla, comfrey, water celery and holy basil – make sure to have a look.

Are you super-organised and already on the hunt for ideas for Christmas? Perhaps you’ll find just what you’re looking for in our selection of hand-crafted items and cards.

Unbelievably, we still have Rosella Jam available after our monster harvest this year. The citrus season has also been generous and you’ll find Orange Marmalade, a Chunky Citrus Marmalade with Ginger, Mandarin Jam, Lime and Ginger Marmalade, Tangy Cumquat Jam and a delicious Chunky Pink Grapefruit Marmalade.

It’s mulberry season so we have a Mulberry Jam and a Deluxe Mulberry Jam which includes farm-grown vanilla for an extra special touch.

And to wrap up the great selection, there’ll be Brazilian Cherry & Apple Jam, Strawberry Jam and Jaboticaba & Apple Jam. All for the unbelievable price of $7 for a 250g jar.

Prefer a chutney or pickle? We’ve got you covered. Not only do we have the old fashioned favourites of Sweet Mustard Pickle and Tomato Relish, we also have a range that you won’t find in your local supermarket. We’re talking about Rosella Chilli Chutney, Banana Date Chutney, Starfruit & Choko Chutney, Green Mango & Starfruit Chutney, Mango Chilli Chutney, Jaboticaba Chutney, Tangy Rosella & Starfruit Chutney, Brinjal Pickle and Zucchini Pickle, all of which go perfectly with a curry , or on a sandwich or with your favourite cheese . Whilst you’re at it, pick up a jar of Kasundi to use as a cooking sauce.

The early birds might snag a jar of Lemon Butter or Lemon Passionfruit Butter at $9.00 per jar. Some customers tell us that they can’t help themselves and just sit with a spoon and devour the jar in one sitting!

And remember, we reuse the jars, bonnets, string etc. – so bring them back with you when you come on Saturday!

August Farmgate Sale

Finally, the end of the month is here which means Farmgate Sale on Saturday 31 August and time to stock up on our delicious preserves! They’re an absolute bargain at $7.00 a jar ($9.00 for Lemon Butter), so don’t miss out!

First to the jams. Our Rosella harvest this year was fabulous and we still are producing Rosella Jam. Our Jaboticaba has been equally prolific so we’ve made Jaboticaba & Apple, Jaboticaba & Starfruit, and Jaboticaba & Strawberry Jam.

Talking of strawberries, we have delicious Strawberry, and Strawberry & Apple Jam, so flavourful!

It’s still citrus season, so what better than Mandarin Marmalade, Lime Marmalade or Cumquat Marmalade to slather on your toast. And inspired by one of the winning entries at the Ekka we’ve made our own Pumpkin and Ginger Jam.

We will have a few jars of delicious Lemon Butter but need to have a limit of one jar per customer.

Do you prefer something to go with cheese, cold meat or curry? New this month is Rhubarb and Date Chutney, but we still have old favourites Tomato Relish and Sweet Mustard Pickles.

Looking for something a little spicy for Dad? How about Rosella Chilli Chutney, Brinjal Pickle, Spicy Eggplant & Capsicum Chutney or, after a long absence, Kasundi Indian Tomato Pickle.

This a just a selection of what’s available, so come down on Saturday 31 August between 9 and 12 to check for yourself.

We love to recycle our jars and bonnets. You can bring them with you on Saturday, or drop them to the Farm at any time – just leave on the stainless steel bench in the kitchen area.
